How old is the wood shingle roof? You could put your money into a more fire-proof roof rather than new siding.

How do you feel about siding painted a really pale sage green with maybe terra-cotta trim. Or the siding in terra-cotta. Nice house but I agree that color has to go.

I love love love your home and its great windows! which will play a role in your decision. Learn about brick staining and have that done for your front chimney and back flower boxes first, or all the exterior brick/stone?. Don't paint or schmear the brick for moisture evaporation is a real function of brick.. Work in a mottled tones of at least 25% the color of your windows and eaves which I think, match pretty close? because they appear to be in good shape. Now, I have seen that tone which may be 'called' almond by the window mfg(but we know better? LOL) is in reality a neutral that could be called taupe or a green hued greige even, combined with 3 to 4 others that is 30% a dusty Terra cotta tone, 15% lighter and 15% a bit darker, than a 20% dusty soft creamy --it brings a warm light to the mix, like a candle??, neutral, and last 25% similarly, soft, not neon...LOL...coral tone to finish. Now, when that has set and dried and you have lived with it, there will be a hue which draws your eyes over and over, combined with your lucious green landscape to be the best one for your home. The secret will be revealed after the brick is stained. I think it may be the warm candlelite color if not the lighter shade Terra cotta or just perfect there coral
even......with a one story house, please don't make it look like a shadow on the land..too dark. The roof is enough dark for such a really friendly design family home. I hope you enjoy the suggestions you get here. We are so happy for you!!

It looks perfectly ok to me. I wouldn't go to the trouble of redoing it, myself.

I would like to edit my coral, to a tone of MELON, that is more accurate to what I have seen, in the post above. I think if you just addressed the change by staining, of the stone/brick, as the case may be, the walls and trim will be perfect, and as Milly and Melissa said, you would not have to do anything till it needs it. Uplifting the brick/stone areas will give you the style change, you are attempting to achieve, I would expect? And the results are so very very pretty, really they are!

I guess that is an almond wall color of some degree. If this is what appears to be a close match to the existing windows you have(they are not white), it is a very nice color. More into a tone that is not as creamy or warm, as your walls currently are. Pleasant and bright. I guess this tone is very close to your existing masonry surfaces also? A correction of the existing walls that are just not quite on target, must be the change you are seeking. And than adding white as a trim tone, not a neutral as it is now. Very tidy appearance.

What I don't like about the current colors is that the window color does not draw the eye. The windows are your house's best feature. I actually prefer soft contrasts but it does not work here. I would paint windows in a much darker color. Current color on the house is fine.

If you really feel like spending the money I think that house would be good in a darker earthy color.

After seeing your last comment I tried one close to the color scheme you show.

I still like the dark window better.

I would plant Fatsia in the entrance planter.

I have a hard time telling anyone to paint, new windows. I never feel that painting vinyl or aluminum is a great long term plan, that won't involve ever more maintenance. I like the exterior as you presented, in the above photo with the dark roof. Matching the windows, or contrasting to what they are, feels like a more worthwhile effort, for your walls. Bringing the existing stone/brick and the windows, together is a more worthwhile effort, unless staining the brick/stone appeals to you, just too add options to the palette of what tones you could use to bring the windows and the brick and the walls together. But we only see photos and in varying skyscape colors, you certainly are a better eye to judge if there is a color for the walls, that will be more pleasant to your eyes' pigment interpretation. There is a color for the walls that will make the windows and walls play nicely with the stone as it is. Some might call it Almond, others may call it Oyster? or Pearl even, something in a 'light greige' tone of a tan(not pinkish, not yellow). Good luck in your search. Still, a beautiful home!!!regardless.
