Removing it would be my first answer, but.. might leave the yellow door looking lonely and pale in all that white. So if you're not going to paint the shutters or a green casing, leave it.

But then again the yellow would be wonderful if you'd paint the shutters and the screen (or door frame) a warm caramel/copper-brown color.

I've recolored your picture; tan shutters and door frame, yellow screen door or none at all, yellow window frames. I like it. Hope you do too.

I would paint it white and also paint the shutters white. Then I'd replace the outside lights with something that stands out more from a distance and add a door knocker that coordinates with the lights. Perhaps oil rubbed bronze? I can't see the door handles, but perhaps add a more distinctive door handle in oil rubbed bronze as well. I think your landscaping is wonderful, including the pots!

Keep the look clean. Paint the screen white.

I took the photo before the paint dried. We did change the hardware (house numbers, door handle, deadbolt and knocker to black). Now they really stand out.

Rinqreation, what you're calling the door frame is actually the screen/storm door.

I LOVE your yellow door--it's a perfect shade. I'm sorry to suggest more than you asked for, but I would paint the storm/screen door charcoal gray and would change your shutters to that color as well. The gray would look fabulous against your yellow door and would blend better than the green with your stone and roof colors. I actually really like the contrast that the current door provides, I'm just not a fan of the hunter green in this context.

Hi Diana, feeny, I'm not sure how to map "charcoal gray" to SW, so here's an attempt at a gray -- Sherwin-Williams SW 6278 Cloak Gray --

I would remove the screen door and replace with a Phantom screen door (disappearing screen), paint the shutters Charcoal gray as feeny suggested. No kick plate. Paint your pots on the porch terra cotta.

Staining your concrete porch and walkway a light gray would look great too!

Out of all the recolor options...I would say the most appealing is still the original from Rinq.
