Yes, more expensive if we change 3" centers. I think I will need to keep handles ORB as faucet and light fixtures are that color. I would like to update the style and like the style you posted. Looking on overstock.

If anyone is around and would like to help, I am attaching pics of knob choices and pull choices ( one is the slim pull that I personally like the best) and the color selected for the cabinets. All opinions are much appreciated as I am clueless.

I don't love the bar pulls, TBH. They're pocket catchers! Check Jeffrey Alexander-I've used their hardware throughout my house and find the quality and choices to be excellent.

Took a look at katinparadise's suggestion and although they were very nice, slightly more than I want to spend. As others have mentioned clothes catching on my selections, I have added a couple of more. I am wanting a much more modern look than I have now, thus my selections. I have considered cup pulls, but are they considered a more country look?

If you're looking for something a bit more modern, I think the first ones in your last post would be a good option.

I love these for your cabs. the color is more of a brown/gray (called a Matte Bronze) and the square handle just suits your design better. even the knobs are more modern. these are from schoolhouse electric and are a bit pricey.

Thanks so much, Beth, I know you are busy. We need a 3" center handle and those modern ones are 5". When I said modern, I meant updated from the ones the builder did 10 yrs. ago. Our faucet is ORB, so trying to blend in with it. As we only plan to be here a few more years we don't want to spend the amount that we would consider in a forever home. We are just trying to update a few things at a time.

ok gotcha. it's ok to do a different tone from the faucet. mixing metals is all the rage now. I got you confused w/someone else I was helping who had new cabinets. forgot you're trying to match the old holes! keep look on that site I sent you, and also try AliExpress. you can find the best deals there. I've ordered many things from them. Way cheaper then the other online stores for the exact same items.

i deleted one because it wasn't the 3". found the others that were.

I wouldn't recommend the tab pulls. I used them in a modern remodel and my tenant clawed the thermofoil cabs and they're just not that strong or easy to use.

Even though my robe pockets get caught on my bar pulls, I like them in my kitchen. I'm short so for some people it wouldn't be an issue at all.

You're getting GREAT suggestions! It's helping me as well... been wanting to re-do my kitchen for years. Tagen, keep all this info for me. You know it takes forever for me to find people in my area to help. Good luck! They will look AMAZING!

Suzyq53, sorry but I don't know which are the tab pulls. Do you mean the sq. knobs? The drawer pulls need to be 3" centers and the doors only have one hole. We are not going to fill holes and sand, so need some type of knob. Thanks about the info on the longer pulls. Suggestions welcome.

Well then you won't be using tab pulls which are the lowest pic Beth posted. You might be able to use all 3" pulls, even where the knobs are by only drilling one extra hole if the placement works. It looks like it could work.

Suzyq53, I really don't think that look will work for out open living area. I am hoping for an updated look, but that will not work.

I honestly like Beth's other suggestions, she is so talented. I would like translational suggestions.

i think the square u shape pulls will be nice n the drawers and pulls on the doors. thought maybe you could squeeze in another hold on the doors but you can't.

The other company said it would take a month to do the work, would charge an extra 500 to paint the inside and had a couple of bad reviews complaining of chipping after 6 months. They were taking the doors to their home for spraying( a dad and his young son company) and painting everything else by hand here. They were also 3 x's higher and we had to call and get the estimate that was to take 48 hrs. to figure. All the estimate said was price for doors, drawers and panels so we just didn't feel comfortable. The Dad counted everything 4 times to get the correct number of doors, drawers and we only have 1 panel on the side of the refrigerator, if that is what he calls a panel. OH and I just looked at each other when they left. Thank you again for your expertise.

wow. ok. well I think the guy you're going w/is giving you a great deal. You'll have a guarantee, right? I think you said yes. that's important. The oil will be fine, just takes a bit longer to cure. non biggy. Did you decide on the color yet? and what company is he using? You might ask him about using Hollandlac paint. if he sprays oil, he should be able to use that one. That's the non-yellowing white. expensive paint, but totally worth it. obviously an oil base primer has to be used as well.

Yes, guaranteed for as long as we live in the house. Zinnser oil based primer and Glyptex oil base paint from Porter. I read about it and it has great reviews and addresses the yellowing issue. We think it will be fine. The color is the same as the door example I posted and will match the trim. I think we will paint the kitchen a slightly darker color when the cabinets are finished. I am ordering the handles and knobs today. Thanks again.

Personally, I am a fan of Zinsser Cover Stain primer, it is a great filler primer, but anything oil will work.

Hi All. The project is finished and Frank did an amazing job. The cabinets match the trim and we are very happy. It was a little smelly but nothing overwhelming and I got to go out for dinner every night. Lol. I added one before pic or you can look back in the thread to see what a mess the cabinets were. PS we discovered Frank does all the painting for a cabinet builder.
