It appears that there are not a lot of options for a different layout. Layout is fine. Add lamps on the end tables. Artwork above the bed. One large piece or three smaller. I would stencil a design on the closet doors. Add drapes to the windows. Introduce another color (orange) to the room in accessories or art. Add a few pillows on the bed. Did you just paint or are you changing the wall color?

I suggest changing the window coverings to a product like Hunter Douglas silhouette. This allows you to open the vanes and have filtered light entering the space, as well as closing the vanes against the light and for privacy....Valerie with The Drapery Company

Paint the closet and door a cool medium gray, add orange accents in a throw, a painting, and two bedside lamps. Shorten the legs of the chest next to the chaise and move it closer to the chaise, add a lumbar pillow with orange accents. The layout looks optimal as it is.

If you are not using the closet at all, remove the doors and turn it into a mini-office.

Are you asking about what you can do with the closet space you are no longer using in this room?
Do you want to remove the doors and finish the area so it is no longer a closet? If you do that, please save the doors and tracks if at all possible, the next owner may want to replace them.

Sorry hehe. Just got back in. Maybe layout was the wrong word. I am planning on painting and have removed everything out of the room. I want to redecorate. The closet I planned on leaving as is with the doors on. I use a comforter that is a weird taupe/grey/purply colour in the winter and the one you see in the pictures in the summer so I want to stick with colours that will go with those. It's basically a blank canvas! The attached picture is the comforter colour (hard to see) and the wall colours I was thinking about.

I like the color palette. You can add purple, pink purple and yellow with either comforter.
