What color cabinets?

We are having a custom built in buffet made for our dining room to house serving dishes, table cloths, etc. and to display all of my candle sticks and other items on top. It is going to float above the baseboard and go along the entire wall, replacing the small cabinet there now. The kitchen and dining room dont open up onto one another, but you can see each room when in the other. We have espresso cabinets in the kitchen and want to do something different in the dining room. Not sure what style or color/stain we should do. The sky is the limit. Any advice would be much appreciated. Please excuse the messy kitchen and table. I removed everything from the walls. Figuring out what to do there is my next project. Thanks!

are the table and chairs staying? You'd prob want to do something in the whites or a very light natural wood. this color would work w/the table

or something like this is beautiful, especially w/the artwork

when you say floating, something along this order? what will the doors be?

The chairs and table are staying for now. I want the cabinets to give me some options when it comes to buying a table in the future. When I say floating, yes - above the baseboard, along the whole wall, I think it measures around 150inches. Mostly cabinets, maybe some shelving in the middle. It's totally custom so our guy can do any door. In the kitchen, we have a large molding, but I dont want to match that. I like the look of the flat cabinets, sleek and all. I have seen all those photos on houzz, I just cant decide! I dont think I want to do white unless I can do glossy like the last photo and he doesn't do glossy. I like the cabinets in this one a lot.

that one is very nice. go for that. have him use a nice walnut. Or, a carbonized bamboo. they make Plyboo that he can use. We made our bed from it. The carbonized is almost the exact coloring of your pic you just posted.

these are the floating nightstands we made out of the the carbonized vertical strand
wished I had known about those other handles you have in your photo. I would have used those instead of these bars
