Where should tile end?

I am having subway tile installed under the cabinets and above a cooktop and I don't have an obvious place to end it. To line it up with the upper cabinet makes it off an inch with the granite countertop. Should I take it all the way to the wall, having it extend past both the upper cabinet and countertop? I don't want to take it up the wall to the right of the upper cabinet.
