old camellia dead and alive NEED HELP FAST

Hello, my camellia is at least 20 years old, never blew fantastic, but hang in there, and considering is mom's camelia, that was good enough. Now dried out branches are multiplying like triplets, so I started to prune, ultil the plant shrank to much. Interestingly, plant is alive, buds are popping out from few live twigs.

Plant is the white summer blossom. Will try to post shots. Only thing I can think is soil has not been replaced since birth, but they say to do it in the spring. Also they say to prune camellia in spring. I will bring more in the open to get some rain, it has been outside all these year, but it used to be uncovered, Used Hydrogena feed, may too concentrated? One cap for 2 liter. I will "replace 5 in of soil" but that won't go to the root. we are in mild zone, never had a problem in the winter

I'm wondering about your description of "the white summer blossom" that is at least 20 years old. Almost all camellias bloom in fall, winter and spring, but I don't know of any old summer-blooming varieties. Is it a species camellia, or do you think it may be another type of plant?

If you can post a photo, that might help.

you are right, actually it did bloom in the summer, although in late summer, I will take pictures as soon as they bloom again, just to make sure it's a real "camellia" thank you for now. Also as soon as I am back home I could take pictures of what it's like now, see you soon

Can't tell from description exactly what the problem is. But don't apply anymore chemical preparations without establishing beforehand there is a specific need for these.

If there is an independent garden center near there you like, where somebody can be shown the plant try that. Or if you are in the U.S. you should be able to get assistance with plant issues from your local U.S.D.A. Cooperative Extension branch office. If you can get there during open hours.
