How can we Hide our Neighbor's House?

We are landscaping the house we just purchased and cannot think of how to enjoy our side patio without seeing the view next door. Got any low-cost suggestions? The space between the patio and the fence is about 12 feet. We'd love an arbor over the patio but it's not in our budget. Adding even 24" of lattice on top of the fence won't be enough. HELP!!

Must be careful with bamboo. If you use Phyllostacis which is running, you MUST use a barrier correctly

I agree, bamboo grows fast. So kinds of bamboo are evasive might want to check with your local nursery. Where are you located, it might help us with suggestions.

Evergreen trees that grow fast! Check your local nursery and they can give you the best tree advice for your space.

There are trees that grow 4 or 5 feet a year. They also spread. Start with three trees and spend some money on ones that have some height now. Place them in line with the two windows and that patio area of theirs. You do not need to plant a row.

Must warn against Bamboo, Many places have outlawed this plant. It is very invasive. My son bought a property three years ago and is still trying to kill it. He even hired a backhoe to dig it up. Not even the cold in northern New York kills this plant.
