Cat wouldn't stop peeing on carpet, then I found a solution!

Long story made short: My cat ate a new food. Got diarrhea, cleaned the spot and that worked for awhile, then he started pooping in THAT spot on the carpet and wouldn't stop. He's 11 years old, been great until THIS. Vet checked his stool and pee, no UTI or other medical problems.

After cleaning the spot with vinegar, I sprayed it with cinnamon essential oil(purchased from Whole Foods) mixed with half water in a spray bottle and he won't go near THAT spot. All is back to normal.

Just thought I'd pass this along....

That time has gone fast! I remember those early days and the adjustments that were made. He landed in the perfect home with two loving people. He is a lucky kitty! Not to mention beautiful!!!

murraysmom...He/Peeka LOVES Natures Miracle! More fun to pee there! :0) $16 and got the opposite reaction...he rubs on the bottle and twines around it.....lol

In his cat box. Kitty litter, Arm & Hammer brand. He has 2 cat boxes, side x side.

Murraysmom has been with me through this journey. Our first pet. :0) (The first 3 days we had him he refused ALL food & water, shook like a leaf when we tried to touch him and weighed less than 7lbs. He's doubled his weight). He was 7 years old,declawed & neutered when we got him. I'm told he'd been locked in a dark garage by his prior owners. I suspect he was a little feral, when the MIL rescued him & offered him on CL. Dec 11 will be his anniversary. He's a cuddle bug...we love him & he is VERY attached to us. It was a total success story until a friend gave us some Costco cat food to try.....

i don't have cats but my son and his wife have 2. one of them is notorious for peeing on cloth furniture and on corners of rugs. i will mention this to them and see if it might help. thanks for the tip!

Found out another trick to share.......cats won't eat where they pee/poop. If you clean the spot he/she is defecating on, then feed him dry food on the spot........it's now a dinner table not a cat box. Putting it in a dish might work too.....

You have to think like a cat....in order to modify their behavior.
