Currently we have a 5 x 8 rug that seems to be too small for the area. We also see wear in certain areas of the light carpet behind the sectional. The room is not a perfect rectangle either. We have short walls and a step down from

the kitchen. We are having the carpet cleaned. We now want to cover those heavy traffic areas. How can we add/replace the rug that is of like or complimentary colors (purple, pink and aqua is in the current rug). We like those colors but are not married to the current rug. Our walls are SW perfect greige. Do we need 1 huge area rug or another identical rug that goes behind the sectional, or another idea. Please advise. Below are photos of the space to give you a visual.
