2017 - November Block Lotto

This lotto is open to all and new quilters are encouraged to participate. You will learn much and have fun doing it. Participate in as many, or as few, lottos as you want, but even if you don't like the current month's block think about doing at least one. The winner will appreciate your efforts!

Here's the drill:

- each month there will be a designated block, you can send 1, 2 or 3 blocks

- Please make the blocks 12.5inches x 12.5inches with no more than 1/4" variation. With your blocks include name, mailing address, forum name and $1 per lotto month (not per block) to cover postage for the winning blocks.

- if possible, either attach your name to the back of each block or write your name in the seam allowance with a fabric pen so the winner knows who made the block (this is not a requirement, just a request)

- all blocks received by the last day of the month will be included in the lotto drawing

- you will have 1, 2 or 3 chances to win, depending on how many blocks you've sent in.

Blocks are to be mailed to Linda. She will arrange the collection and dispersal to the winner. If you need her mailing address, you may request it by sending her a message at linda at schultz-assoc .com

Just a quick reminder that this is the last month of the 2017 lotto (since we skip Dec) and also the last time that you will be mailing blocks to toolgranny/Linda. Thank you Linda and Sue!

It would be nice to have an explanation of how blocks got named. Some of them are easy to understand, but others boggle my mind.

I've also wondered about block names, Sharon. Especially all the state star blocks and how they were determined.

Everyone's blocks look so nice. This is going to be another winner. I received the Oct blocks and they are awesome and will keep me busy so I'm going to sit this month out. Good luck, everyone!

I'm sending off these blocks and closing out November. Our winner is you, Nannykins. I'm sending these off to Canada. Would you rather I held them till after the Xmas mailing mess?

I think you should pull another name. The chaos that is in this house since the flood means I can hardly find my machine. The contractor was just here and says it will be at least three to four months before we can say Amen. And I would rather someone else receive and enjoy these blocks instead of them being tucked in a box somewhere until who knows when.

and as always thanks for all the work you and Sue have done to keep the Lotto going and making it a fun experience.

Thanks, Theresa and Linda. Maybe this will inspire me to get quilting again.

And Theresa, a friend of mine to whom I showed my husband’s fish apron wanted to know where she could get some of that fabric, so of course I shared some of it with her too. She wanted an apron for her son who loves to cook.
