Our house has Mediterranean features but the back is builder basic blah. Dislike the dysfunctional (for us) patio and path installed by prior owner. Would like to install a large patio along 2/3 of the back of house with pergola (dark brown - to match the approved color scheme for eaves/fascia - repainting in coming weeks) as we are installing French doors off living area. Stamped concrete was a thought... but what design? Need to keep open areas for play. Suggestions to give this yard function and character welcome!
