What is the pitch of the roof over the front entry way?

    follow-up - we are building a new home and the roof pitch over the front entry area is 3.5/ 12 and I would like to know what roofing material might work best, integrity wise? I am hearing asphalt is not guaranteed under a 4 / 12 pitch. any help/advice appreciated.

    Some type of metal standing seam is typical around here. But IMO if you don't have snow lingering/melting on the roof the asphalt should be fine. Make sure your roofer is onboard though.
