Commented: Roof pitchSome type of metal standing seam is typical around here. But IMO if you don't have snow lingering/melting on the roof the asphalt should be fine. Make sure your roofer is onboard though.

Commented: Do you recall the board and batten size?Since it lies flat against a continuous plywood/OSB surface it is fine. Durability is comparable to Hardi siding.
