I would use a tiny wood cove molding that is just enough to cover the seam of wood to stone and can pass under the outlets and switch plates. The molding you have in the picture is too large.

Continue with the current trim. I think the consistency will be nice, and it's a pretty profile. Your counters and cabinets look great by the way. Nice job.

Honestly - that beadboard paneling backsplash doesn't work well with your counter-top/cabinets. It clashes with the wall cabinets which does not create an appealing look We suggest pulling the BS off and going with a glass mosiac tile or a tumbled marble backsplash .

Agree with Kitchen Cabinet Kings. Also, I can see a smidgeon of your upper cabinet which appears to have the same lines as your beadboard backsplash. The dividing lines appear to have the exact same spacing! If you have the vintage/traditional look kitchen which it appears you do from the lower cabinets plus marble counters, then you should go with subway tile backsplash. That will also not compete with the lines on your upper cabinets since the lines will be more broken up.

Thank you everyone, we were hoping to keep the bead board but after reading all your comments it sounds like we need to change our train of thought. Yes hazeldazel the cabinets do have the same look and spacing. I will discuss and change our plan of attack. This change will have a direct hit on the budget any ideas how costly it is to have the tile done professionally?

Maybe a nice barn style sink would good just to give a more modern look

I personally love the beadboard! It's quirky and charming. Mosaic tile can be nice, but the beadboard is unique.
