The blooms don't last as long as my spring-blooming types, so the flowers to break in a few days and the petals fall. The plant is several feet wide though, so I really can't see the white ground.

Enjoy them while you can. Hard freeze here last night and all camellia blooms are toast.

A lovely plant. My two year old cutting just opened its first flower making it the earliest blooming Camellia in my collection here in PNW. I'm looking forward for it to reach the size of yours.

To Dave - since you are in zone 7A, that freeze is not typical of your area is it? And if it isn't, would it help to cover the camellia in the event of atypical freezes. Meaning, if atypical, covering is not something you have to bother with all the time. And, does covering really help at all. Just wondering.

Also in 7a in NOVa, I’m considering this beautiful variety to place in a woodland bed with Rhodos, winterberries, part shade, under deciduous trees by fence facing west - anyone know of local nurseries that carry this or how well it does in the shade?

I have seen Snow Flurry for sale in Camforest.com . Now would be a good time to start checking local nurseries for it as I have started to get ads from local nurseries saying that camellias had arrived.
