Did they consider your hardiness zone insufficient? Fruiting pomegranates here in 8b (Portland OR) survive and grow just fine but even with recent hot summers, fruit is small and not of high quality.

Their email stated that they provide material to "research and educational institutions for research, testing, and scientific breeding efforts that require genetic diversity or specific genetic standards." Which I am not, lol.

One thing I do appreciate is they provided a link to find alternate sources for what I wanted, except that mostly ends up being buying 1 or 3 gallon nursery plants from around the country, which gets really expensive, really quick. Hence why I'm seeking cuttings instead.

I have a Russian Red pomegranate that so far has grown in Zone 7a. It has not bloomed yet, but I am hoping for blooms next year. Would you like to trade something for some cuttings?

I don't have a lot of room. I have peach trees, Asian pears, Sherwood jujube, Russian red pomegranate, black berries, blue berries, 5 kinds of figs, a cherry and a persimmon. I usually plant a garden that includes garlic and walking onions and normal vegetables. What can you offer in trade.

Since you already have most of the things that I have, and with space being an issue, would you be interested in Goji(wolfberry)? They grow quick and easy once established.
