it would make it so much easier if you posted a picture rather than describing your rooms. people who ask for advice on paint color but don't post pics, can't expect much help.

so, if you like repose gray, then get a sample and try it. I like white ceilings. if you want a color, then get it lightened by 50%, or use the lightest color on the paint chip w/Respose.

since the ceiling is on the low side and light looks like it's nothing too bright, why don't you go w/the white ceiling? be careful w/your grays w/the oak flooring. nothing too cool.

these are nice shades w/oak flooring.Pale oak is also a nice color. try it w/a warmer white on the ceiling lacey pearl (BM) is also a very pale, light gray. if you have to put a color on your ceiling, you could try this one. grab some samples and try them.

I just painted my basement repose but had them reduce the gold hue from 8 to 5 for the paint that I chose.

Hi! I'm in the same boat, painting a whole house different shades of grey. I just painted my family room/kitchen (open concept room) Repose Gray and while I like it, I am having a little buyer's remorse. It reads a little blue to me and this room gets a TON of light (these pictures were taken after one coat of paint and at night). We are painting several other rooms BM Classic Gray and I LOVE IT. It is truly the perfect color and wish we had painted the family/kitchen Classic Gray, but were told it would be too light. It has contrast with bright white trim and doesn't read blue, green or TOO beige-y to me, but just right. I don't have pictures of the Classic Gray rooms, but HIGHLY recommend. Note: this image is Repose Gray in the front and the room behind has SW Pewter Cast on the top half

We just finished painting our dinning room(this weekend) repose grey I love the color. I am not sure about lighting it, it is pretty light going on. Yes paint the ceiling white it gives it a taller feeling. Our whole house is a shade of grey and by far this is my favorite grey. I may just repaint the kichen with with color.

Thanks everyone for the feedback, we went with repose gray and kept the ceiling white. It's a very tiny bit to dark and feels very contemporary, but overall I love the look and it can out great. I will post photos tomorrow.

Can someone suggest a softer white for my ceiling? I started painting my ceiling bright white but i think it’s too stark . I still want the contrast look. The wall is repose gray at 75%.
