I have no idea if there are ones meant for floor install you will have to check that out I do not like medallions in floors or walls . Generally if the tub is the focal point it really needs no other thing to draw the eye there and as for theones behind the stove they have never made sense to me

Mother of Pearl tiles are VERY SOFT and would be scratched and trashed within a few months.

The best you could do would be an iridescent glaze on ceramic, but that would also scratch quickly and lose the iridescent look.

Pick a tile that is mean for bathrooms or be prepared to be unhappy.

Completely unsuitable for most real world installations. But would last weeks on a floor before you’d ruin it.

many tiles are rated for their use. I would not use the mother of pearl on a walkable surface. After your prologue I'd be careful of forging forward without professional assistance.. 'When you buy the BEST you only cry once'

ok ok Sophie :) I got it.....here is my problem.....I try to make it as concise as possible. I need to match the tile under my tub to the rest of the bathroom tile. My tile is a .6cm ceramic tile, Max Fine Onice Perla. For 2 years I have dragged tile after tile in to try and match and the mop was the only thing oddly enough that matched. I can't just order another piece as each order is custom re coloring and design. The concrete job was a disaster, and now all the flooring has to come out. I have enough tile left over to do the entire bathroom floor with the exception of the tub area. 2 years of lawyers and insurance companies. It has been a nightmare. This photo

Our problem Gary is the concrete job underneath. We know this because none of the wall tiles cracked, only every tile on the floor. We had an expert come and drill holes into the tile, and there were other protocols that were not followed. It was not the material but the workmanship or lack thereof. My tiles were very expensive.

I am thinking about doing something like this border around the outside of my tub tile. Of course it would have to be a smaller version. After 2 years it is all overkill for me. I hope the water in the shower works. We have not had a shower yet in our "new" 2 year old bathroom.....what a horror it has been. If anyone has a thought I would so appreciate some ideas, and of course the tile cannot be greater than .6cm. Thank you.
