Hello everyone. I am finally getting the new kitchen I have wanted since moving into my current home. I am looking for thoughts on design and cabinet choice. The dimensions are 17x8, and the island will be 8ft (7ft long with 1 ft overhang). What do you think about the layout? The doorway next to the fridge leads to a mud room. The wall directly across from the stove has a 5ft pantry next to a 6 ft opening to the dining room. A sliding patio door is to the left of the dishwasher. I am looking at a basic shaker (kraftmaid Gentry) in dove white and the island in slate. I am a little unsure about the Dove White being too bright white. The cabinets will be trimmed in crown. I am also unsure about two different counters. My husband doesn't want a light counter on the white cabinets. I am looking at silestone Lyra for the quartz. What do you think about mixing granite (graphite Grey) with quartz? Any feedback would be appreciated!
