Not silly at all! You should do what works for you. It's a perfectly normal sized fridge -- not like you're downgrading to a bar fridge. Go for it. Don't let anyone else's idea of what's right make those decisions for you.

That fridge without the icebox is likely to be far more reliable long term. My wife drinks ice tea several times a day so that would be a deal breaker but if you don't use a lot of ice, then it's a no-brainer. The only other thing is if your circumstances change and you need something bigger, it's a lot more hassle to then have to upsize a perfectly good small fridge.

You have other options as well. A brand like Liebherr comes in 24" and 30" and while I've not owned one, people in the forum who do tend to love their Liebherrs. They seem to be a higher build quality and design. Miele also runs 24" and 30" widths.
