Wow Patricia... that was such a helpful answer. YOU may find it amusing, but many people actually like the look of all of the pulls coordinating. On a paneled, built-in refrigerator that blends into the cabinetry, why would I want something that looks like I couldn't find something to coordinate with the rest of the pulls? 22, I understand your reaction, but in fact a great many people, including myself, do not match the pulls. I like the smooth plane of integrated cabinetry and panelled everything that would stand still for it -- though didn't not hide the ovens behind doors, which some people do and which I find ridiculous. We all have our chuckle points. For me, however, I wanted the appliances to be obvious even though they were integrated.

Answer: Yes, that pull is fine for the columns. I have the same sized Miele's, and went for a custom made 3' pull, but that's purely for design. There's a 6" span where the hands grab between the shortest and tallest family member. In fact, many people truly want to hide the appliances, and use the same pulls as on their drawers. Some even have "cracks" routed into their door panels to make it look like there are smaller cabinets and drawers, and put hardware on them all. Your RH pull looks sturdy with screws that go through the panel from the back. That's all you need. The rest is looks.

Are you really wedded to the RH pull? Have your cabinets already been drilled or something? Because if you search the knobs and pulls stores online, you'll find whole suites of pulls of a design in five or more lengths, including appliance. With one of those suites, they could match exactly. Sometimes when they only match mostly rather than coordinate without matching, or matching completely, they look a little off. Like a puzzle, "what's wrong with this picture?" So much in the pictures is camera angle and lighting, it's impossible to tell if your two pulls shown would look right together or not quite. If you go with them, you should get one of each and audition them where you can hold them up and see them together.

The truth is if this is incredibly important to match both style and finish, you choose the most difficult thing first, and match the less difficult to that choice which IS more limited, as is the market for appliance pulls in Polished Nickel . 22k - Are your columns 800 series or 900? I'm asking because I have the 800 and I gotta tell you these doors are really sucked on. You need a long fat appliance handle to wrangle them open.

It doesn't need to be "fat".........it needs to be HIGH QUALITY : ) and well attached to the panel. I'd pull a truck with this. At 112.00 apiece, I think you'll get the doors open.

Jan- It really does need to be fat, like over an inch and better if its round too. I'm not kidding about how hard these doors are to open. Sometimes, I can't open them with my arms. I have to grab the handle and jerk it open with my body. A skinny pull, regardless of the quality would really hurt your hand. I had to get the 32" Thermador pulls.

The new 900 series has easy open doors. That is because children literally could not open the 800 doors. My husband who goes 6'4" and over 200 lbs has to do the body jerk too, sometimes multiple body jerks. Crazy suction!

That's disingenuous. The Thermador Freedom Columns the OP mentioned are integrated and almost always panelled. Additionally, if one is replacing a handle on a fridge without a custom door, the new handle has to match up with the mounting holes. As a pro, you should know this. If you don't know this, you have even less excuse to be so rude.

I agree with Jan about Top Knobs being a good source, and they should also have something with a similar look to the RH you like. I also take Suzyq53's advice to heart. The Miele is a similar box, but has different guts. How much pressure is behind the seal would be down to the particular maker.

The problem with having "really" close, is that it's almost always not quite close enough. Before you proceed, at least look around to see if you can find something you like as well as the RH that comes in different lengths.

The 18" Classic Brass pulls came today. They are a) unbelievably high quality (solid brass, made in USA) b) absolutely stunning and c) a spot-on match to my Ephram pulls. They were $$$ but worth every penny.

That is indeed a very good match! The very slight difference I see in the shape, the eye explains away as being due to the difference in scale. More importantly, the color, at least as the picture is drawn on my screen, even under those lighting conditions, is nigh on perfect!

@22k22 -- Any chance you could link the Classic Brass pulls you found that match the Ephram? They are out of stock, and I am trying to find a replacement for one.
