I think you've made a nice choice here. The other option is to install a mosaic tile as a feature in the bottom - Was there no option to wrap the counter up to that spot? That is another way to go. Keep the ceasarstone up the wall to the tile....

Thank you! Actually, the quartz was a lot pricier than finishing the tile and I like the look a bit better without the quartz backsplash. Thanks again for taking the time to give advise!

Hello! I think you're on the right track for everything mentioned. I just wanted to bring up something else to consider. Once you take the microwave out, and put in a new hood, there will be sections of the flanking wall cabinets that weren't seen in the past. You may see color discolorations (from food and such) and/or marks from the microwave resting on the sides of the cabinets. You may want to see if you can purchase skins for the side of the cabinets or find a hood that is similar in height to your existing microwave.

On my monitor, the countertop looks predominantly taupe-ish and the pencil trim has grey veining. Have you considered a solid white pencil trim of the same color and material as the subway tile?

How much tile do you have in the kitchen? Are there other changes, other than the hood? Keep in mind, there will need to be tile changes when replacing the micro with hood.

I recommend considering replacing the backsplash tile altogether. If not a large area, it would not be that expensive.

I agree the picture shows more taupe. It is more grey in real life. I wish I could find a piece that is just white, but have had no success. Thanks so much!
