Bare apartment walls need help!!

Two issues:

1. What goes with navy blue walls for the dining room?
2. How to decorate the wall with this long couch...

Any recommendations are much appreciated!!

Beautiful navy walls!
I'd hang some bold ,contrasting art on the dinning room on both walls , something to complement the sophisticated color scheme you choose - cream, gold - navy blue. It's one of my favorites : stylish and warm.
I'd look for antique gold, brushed gold to pair with the navy walls.
I'd also look for a rug under the dinning table

My advice is to take your time, shop around for those beautiful pieces that are going to make you happy for a long time. You could find gorgeous art in HomeGoods, Etsy, even Target.

If you have an open space dinning - sitting area I'd bring the navy blue and gold combo above the couch.

2. You do need something over the sofa, paintings or sculpture or objects, to add interest to the wall. Don't be mousy about it. Go bold.

Why don't you try placing your favorite family photos and abstract art (all in same type and color frames) in various sizes.
Lay all out on a large floor space to get the desired look before hanging!
