Does the adhesive damage the walls?

I'm a bit concerned that if we want to remove these that it will damage the drywall. Can I opt to not use the adhesive strips and use small nails to secure them?

    Thanks for asking, it is industrial strength adhesive so it will most likely damage the drywall. You can use small gauge pin nails or finishing nails to apply also.
