The stainless have the darker grey sides on the fridge - even with the counter depth mine sticks out. Do you think that would look bad?

I would go with stainless. The fridge you currently have appears to not be counter depth. A new counter depth stainless fridge should not sit proud like your current fridge. You can always check out the dimensions of the fridge you're interested in to see if it will work in your space before purchasing.

Stainless...it's neutral and timeless. Also, Patricia has a good point about not having to buy the same brand.

Stainless all the way. As other's have pointed out it's a consistent color across brands, it's a neutral, and it will modernize the kitchen.

Thank you all! Stainless it is then! Finding a fridge has been hard so far. The opening width is 36” but the little tiny counter I will have to take off to fit a 36” counter depth. The fridge that is there is 33” wide and they don’t make counter depth 33” that I have found.

Stainless is in and would look good,but the white you have looks nice. Whatever you do don’t go black or dark.

When I looked for an AFFORDABLE counter depth refrigerator recently, the reviews were pretty bad. You can take out a one month subscription to Consumer Reports and cross-check with ratings online and at the big box stores. If I wanted to spend thousands, there were good options. But I didn't. I ended up with a full depth refrigerator and am thinking of putting stainless steel panels on the grey sides. Not great but...

36" is the standard refrigerator size today, so you'll have the most options. Of course, 80% of homes have 30" openings.

For what it's worth I do not recommend Kitchenaid or any Whirpool owned appliance. I've had a LOT of trouble and they do not stand behind the product.....even tried not to honor the basic warranty. I believe there is a lack of quality control so it's hard to predict what will be reliable. But good customer service is a must!

I had started out looking at fridges that we’re 33” range which we have now but started thinking if I just take off that tiny counter piece I could fit a couple of the 36” models that are actually 35 1/2 when measured. Just seems more of a standard width so more options. I have been checking consumer reports too. I think they are just not made to last as long anymore which is sad.

Mradkie - dang it those were actually in my top 3 brands so far. My brother said he has issues with his kitchenaid too. The other brand I was thinking was maytag.

I've had a KitchenAid counter depth for 4 years without problems, if fact if its possible to love an appliance I do this one. Just a bit of hyperbole. You have to research and then hope for the best nowadays. That's the reality of modern manufacturing.

Brand means little, Whirlpool is the parent company of many many kitchen appliances. Google who owns what label to get a good breakdown.

@Anne Duke, hoping for the best is so true! Nothing's made the way it once was in the world of appliances. Not very please with Whirlpool right now. Our washing machine from them died after 4 years. I've learned that's more the norm these days.
