We have an open kitchen floor plan, similar to this and have similar pendant lights over our island. We are considering "just" doing can lighting over our farm-style table (which would be to the right edge of the photo, same as photo). We aren't very formal, so any of the fixtures just seem a little "too much" and we like the flexibility to be able to move the table around without hitting our head on a fixture, or having it off-center. That all being said, is it weird to have can lighting over a table instead of a fixture? Most photos seem to have chandeliers?!
