Need holiday cheer for front door

I need some holiday cheer for my front door and small porch area! I realized how sad my entry looks (it's an especially dismal day, today) and I want to spiff it up for the winter holidays! I'd like to have a cohesive design, so before I do anything, I wanted to ask all of you to help with your suggestions.

I currently have a wreath on the door and two small lighted trees. I was going to add a small swag to the light above the mailbox. I was going to use something that hangs from the top of the light and is like this https://pin.it/wkg7ctdyalyvm5 to keep it out of the way of the mailbox.

But I want to make this space cheery (even on dreary days)!

Buy some silver or red ribbon, the 3" wide kind, and run it around the trees. Add a big silver bow to the wreath. Or you could add a bright colorful windsock.

Wreath blends into the door and is hardly noticed so I would add some large bows or ribbon, pots don't match and the trees could be decorated. You could add garland/boughs/lights around the door. Replace the small lantern with larger ones. Summer or winter, a bench either under the mailbox or on other wall would be really nice and if you purchased now, could decorate. Agreed, add red!! Dollar store is my go-to for this kind of thing. Bead strings are CHEAP at the dollar store and can be easily wound into your trees for added glam. You can get a pre-made red bow for the wreath.

A cheerful welcome mat in red would be lovely too.

I would not use the swag above the mailbox, personally. Focus all the attention on the door.

Try re-positioning the trees so they are centered in front of the sidelights. Add a glittery star tree topper to each.

Add two more lanterns to your collection and group them around the tree on the left. If you can get two larger than the one you have so you have small, medium, and large that would be awesome. Make at least one of them white or silver and the other white, silver, or turquoise. Use battery-operated candles in them. Remote control is really nice.

Be of good cheer! It's Christmastime, yay!! :-D

PS if you prefer blue, use that instead of red. It will look good with your green door and be able to stay up into January without being too Christmas-y. I love blue Christmases!!

What about adding color to the wreath or changing the wreath out for more color? You could cover the pots the trees are in with foil or foil wrapping paper. Lastly a seasonal welcome mat.

Hang the wreath on the outside of the storm door. Using the lime green door as a back drop use silver, gold or the green & white stripe ribbon for a large bow. Plenty of tutorials on youtube.com Put some lights on the little trees. A larger lantern as in LARGE in white with the green for the candle. CLEAN out the leaves. Eventually you need to paint the white trim on the door window green and the storm door also.

I'll try adding the foil around the pots and some silver and blue into the trees. I love the idea of the silvery star topper on each! (Thanks lindsey)

jck910, I've never hung the wreath outside the storm door. Do I use one of those huge magnet hangers to do that? Or run a ribbon somehow?
