I learned this on this forum, if you can smell the bleach it is still in the fabric and causing damage. It will yellow the item. My guess is it still needs more rinsing. I'm sure someone with more knowledge will chime in soon.

Yep exactly what Heather says. If you smell bleach its still there and will damage the fabric. Rinse them again. Lol

I didn’t know about the smell being an indicator of residual bleach. And I love that smell! Anyway, I put bleach up to the mark and always do a double rinse. How can it be overuse if you’re following “the rules”?

If I remember correctly, the lady at the laundry mat said it there were 3 rinses on the program I selected. I used the largest washer they had there. It had plenty of room for the water to slosh around...hmmm.
