I think your challenge will be finding a cordless drill without a keyless chuck. Most of the home center have drills on display, so it shouldn't be too hard to try one out.

If your needs are relatively modest, I might suggest taking a good look at 12v drills. They have plenty of power for DIY projects while being light and compact.

You need to buy drills with hex shanks. A keyless chuck will no hold ordinary drills - very well.
