Where are you located? How many vehicles and what size will be in the garage? is the garage a free-standing building? Why is the front (15') taller than the rear (11') of the garage?

You’re a planning on parking online nose to tail? That is a giant pain. Or are you only building a one car garage and the rest is shop? Because none of these dimensions says “garage”. Except for the height. That’s says “auto lift possible” Otherwise it just says “wasted space”.

I don't think a garage can be too big, but then I wish I had more room on each side to get in and out of my car (house built in 1948), but at least it's extra long for storage. If it weren't a basement garage (which I quite like for constancy of temperature - car never too hot or too cold), I would want stairs to upstairs storage - a service elevator to the upstairs would be even better - they furniture could easily be stored up there. In my dreams...

Thanks everyone. It's a building that was built before I acquired this property. I did not choose its size. It is too large for a one car garage (with plenty of door opening space, but I only want it for one car or truck and a workshop and storage space, which is great to have an oversized garage for that purpose. Car may take 2m x 5m space and the rest would be storage space, shelves, and workshop corner. I wonder what industry standard door width and height is and as per my other questions above.

Standard height of a garage door opening is typically 7 feet, although 8 feet is not uncommon due to the popularity of large SUVs. Width of the opening for a single door is usually 8 feet, although 9 and 10 are still considered standard sizes.
