I agree it doesn’t really do anything foer the space and if hanging art is the aim whay do something that competes with the art and BTW real ship lap should never be used as finish on any wall it is rough and full of splinters it was never meant to be used for anything except outdoor barns and sheds.

what kind of art? I don't really mind it as it is, but w/that tile floor, it fights the look.

can you hang up the art so we can see what it looks like?

It looks like a lot of work went into installing the 'shiplap' wall. I would paint it the same color as the other walls in the space, that way it will blend in and wont chop up the space too much. Anything else will call attention to it and it will compete with the floor.

I think you can make it work. I would not whitewash. if you are enameling some woodwork, I would paint the wall the same white.

Wash in the darkest colour in the floor. Pulling the colour out of the floor ties it together.

Right now, the wall competes with the floor. The floor has a gray undertone & the wall has a yellow undertone. I love the texture of the shiplap wall, however it needs to be painted. If you are painting all the walls white, paint the shiplap white. If you are painting the other walls a light gray, I'd do the same on the shiplap. Due to the size of your space, I'd keep the walls all the same color.

I would paint it white, the warm yellow is clashing with the gray floor.

I'm also a little concerned about the height of the art light you have hardwired, have you purchased the art yet? If not, I am worried that the lights will be too low for such a big piece...

I agree the lights should have been installed much higher on the wall you are now limited to what can be hung there
