I stand corrected, hard to see in the dark photo. Best suggestion is to take the measure and photo to a local lumber supplier, versus a big box. They'll have the best advice, even if special order.

OOh. I don't generally like knotty pine but I like that. If you can't match it, perhaps embrace it and do drywall painted a complementary color?

If you are going to paint the paneling after you have removed the fake fireplace, why go to the bother of adding more paneling, only to have it painted? If you are going to paint, would it make more sense to remove the paneling and put up drywall...unless you like the look of painted paneling, that is.

I like the look of paneling, and I'm trying to keep as many original elements of the house as possible.

Also called WP-2 pattern and or "butterfly pine". A good, real lumberyard should definitly be able to source that for you.

I had this in my house and removed it because we demoed that room and it had tons of built ins so there wasn't enough of the paneling to use in another room and I am kicking myself. Pickwick paneling? Holy cow. This is cracking me up. The absolute last thing I thought would ever be popular again. I look ahead ... use a worm drive, a 13 ounce Plumb, listen to Joy Division and Chromeo ... oh, never mind ..........
