Love the fireplace! Could we please see a pi of the entire wall?

What type of shelving were you considering? I don't think a white mantle would go well with the floating hearth. You have a very nice room. I think I would just consider a larger area rug to pull the room together.

I love the attached picture you added Linda. It has a nice craftsman look and is current and fresh! I think it'll look great.

To play with the arch in the fireplace, I would put arches/curved lines in the glass doors for the shelving.
