Another color [seems] a bright teal rug. If you bought what I liked ok - Target's cotton cover, the couch could blend...

Of course, the recliners: cottage? do tell what's the budget [but I'm not good at that]?.... about what kind of replacement...

Looked again and didn't like [from merely a photo] - rattan's color with warmer flooring. Seems a switch with sunroom's table worth a try. It's pretty for tropical-cottage, you think?

If you are not prepared to paint the complete home, then change the shutters and trim to white. Add grids to your windows.

Cut all those shrubs in half. They are hiding your home.

Look at everything in your home with a critical eye and ask yourself if the item is cottage like in design. Get rid of the dark rug in the hall and change to a bright runner. Dried weeds in a floor vase are not cottage material. All that stuff on the wall and the garbage can takes away from the home's appearance.

Can try adding texture to coastal interiors, which you've done! This room has glass as opposite to texture.

Break up organic surfaces with contrast. A wicker coffee table next to a rattan chaise on top of a sisal rug might be a bit much.[

Yes, paint the furniture white and get a white slipcover for the couch. Then remember the cottage recipe for the rest of the fabrics: ticking, check, and a touch of floral. Keep the color scheme consistent and soft. Perhaps paint the walls sea salt, or any soft color from the pretty collections Beverly posted. Look for a striped rug, recover the chair pads in a small check or ticking and make two pillows for the couch in a buffalo check— then add one small pillow in a floral. Find your key textiles first, you want all your whites to go together and all the patterns to harmonize in color.

Your house is small, like mine, so pick a consistent color scheme from the beginning and stick with it. Even if you don’t do it all at once, paint all walls the same color, maybe sea salt or a soft beige, and all woodwork white. This combo could be pretty: a soft blue-green like sea salt, a pale beige, white, and a touch of coral. Another brighter combo could be blue denim, blue/white ticking, beige, white and one bright accent like red or yellow. As you move from room to room, different colors from from your combo become more or less important. Since it is so separate, you could probably get away with painting the lanai walls a different color in the basic palette.

New blue rug, with grey recliners, and couch cover to bring it together! .... the soft 'natural color' ? Idk that I'd pick beige [not with medium grey].

There are many types of cottages. Just search the box above under Photos for cottage house and you'll see all kinds. You need to find one you like and pattern your place after it. Coastal cottage is not country cottage is not English cottage, etc. Try to find pix that help you nail down the direction you want to take.
