100% polyester, good choice?

I am looking at upholstery samples for a living room sofa. My favorites are all 100% polyester which I thought would be a good choice, but I have read that it may pill. Is that always a characteristic of polyester? Who would be someone to give me a good opinion, our dry cleaner, or upholstery cleaner?

For any upholstery you are considering the rub count is the most important factor... a link to get you started on your research:

Thank you for your response. As I look at the sample I see grade, type, pattern, color, and cleaning code, but no rub count. I can see why this is important, but where do I find this information?

Polyester: Rarely used alone in upholstery, polyester is blended with other fibers to add wrinkle resistance, eliminate crushing of napped fabrics, and reduce fading. When blended with wool, polyester aggravates pilling problems.
