Solid surface shower walls?

I hate grout. Can quartz be used as a shower surround? When we built 20 yrs. ago we had a solid surface shower put in. However, although contractors are used to this in TX where I'm from, they're NOT used to it in VA and we had lots of issues with it. We ended up replacing it with a fiberglass shower about 6 yrs. ago and will soon begin a total redo of our Master Bath. I want a marble look, but want ease of cleaning and NO grout so was wondering about quartz. Has anyone tried this and if so, what are your thoughts?

I've never used quartz on the walls of a shower surround but from what I understand it can work quite well. I think the most important detail in the installation is the person installing it. They really need to know what they are doing to get a waterproof seal.

We will soon be building and I'm in the process now of researching solid surface because I'll never have any grout again! I'm intrigued by the Kohler choreograph system. Good luck!
