Thank you so much for your feedback!!! The artwork is from various local Moroccan artists. I purchased the canvases there and had them stretched here. The one behind the couch (the nude) was painted by my mom!

Thanks for the comments!!! artpepper the sofa is from BoConcept. Although we love the look of it we're underwhelmed with the quality so wouldn't necessarily recommend it.

I really love your artwork too! And the sofa! And the fireplace!!! Okay, I'm going to suggest something really bold here - what about painting the walls red to bring in that color?!?! It would make your artwork really stand out, and would add a little more coziness and the color you're wanting :). Whatever else you do you've done great things!

p.s A nice ceramic lamp on the console table behind the sofa, and a small stack of books will add more color too!

that is the question I was going to ask what kind of paint did you use on the fireplace looks like one I have pinned and I love it. I am bored with mine and am ready for a change. I am working on the bedrooms and kitchen might as well add the living room to the list too.

Tks for the comments! On the fireplace we put a basalt stone veneer, it's not paint. I don't remember the supplier but just googled it and found a few examples. As far as painting the wall red, I am the only crazy person that loves my walls white! I totally agree that i need cool accessories for the console, can't wait to get them! Your room looks wonderful. What a great transformation! I think you could use some accessories for the console table and coffee table and some drapes for the window.

I just reread your post and saw that you have window treatments on the way. I just wanted to add that your artwork is fabulous and I love the white walls. It makes the art the star.

It's gorgeous, awesome job!!! Love all your furniture and art. I think you just need a few Contemporary accessories, such as A large Black or colored scuplture for the soft table and add a few chunky candle sticks and items for the coffee table. Maybe a tray brightly painted or a magnificent bright red, Blue bowl or Colored glass...Try "Onekingslane.com" you'll love the site . Also consider a couple large potted Plants (Tree's) in nice contemporary(BIG) pottery to add some warmth plus they add oxygen! I like the white walls but it would be nice to have one brightly painted accent ( TV ) wall. Love the couch and rug and of course the art. The pottery you have between the pictures in the corner is to small..You need the twings to be Taller, much taller in that corner. Is that a speaker in front of it ? If it is you can put that pot on something to raise it up behind that speaker so what ever you use cannot be seen, and gain the height it needs, or add Taller twigs or Bamboo which is taller.. I would replace that with something much bigger / taller. And / or maybe move the one you have next to the glass table (could be bigger) or use two sofa table side by side it's a long wall. The second painting is off balance, position it so it's equally spaced top and bottom (few inches on both) with the one on the left... It looks off because it's hanging too low next to the painting on left..balancing it I think it would look better. LOVE Mom's nude. I collect nude art, statues and paintings. And have a collection of vargas, plus others. Very Big on Statues, contemporary of course :-) This wlll sound crazy "BUT" how about some Art Deco pieces from the 60's contemporary of course. I think 1-2 pieces of awesome art deco would look great in the room and could be conversation pieces. I wish the coffee table was Bigger to scale for the couch. OR one ( 60's type) odd shaped. That's a huge room from the picture, big rooms demand big pieces and you have plenty of space. I Love everything you did, just think it needs a few final touches. I rate yours Almost excellent !!

Wow. Love the sofa! What about moving it over to the center a little more. Not so close to the doors (those are doors correct?) Also I think the table against the long wall is much too small for that space, and for the artwork above it. I love what you've down with the fireplace wall. Will look much better when you hang the tv. (more in proportion) ;)

Would you consider a long low bookcase behind your sofa? Maybe several smaller matching ones joined together. Luv the room.

mslizzy- Your point is well taken about moving the sofa so it is more centered. I will do that. As far as the console being to small for the wall and the painting, I agree. I originally wanted to put 2 of them side by side but I am blocked by the baseboard heating!! Should I just not put anything against that wall and instead put bookshelves or a low unit behind the sofa like saltcitybabe suggests?? The room is big enough that I could move the sofa closer to the fireplace/tv wall to add enough space for a unit behind the sofa. The sofa is very long and low though so not sure what I can find that will fit. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

I think I love saltcitybabe's idea. That long wall would be great with nothing but the art work, and then something low behind the couch. Check Ikea! They have some way cool stuff that I can picture there... Something possibly like this in a coordinating color.

Actually this color is really hot right now, and it matches the pillows you have on the couch.

Wow! Beautiful transformation. I'm curious how you changed the fireplace. I have a brick wall with the fireplace just like your before picture. How did you get rid of the wall length hearth?Was it difficult to put drywall over the brick? I want to update my family room and getting rid of the brick wall is first on my list.
