It looks like the house is gray--is that right? If so, how about painting the garage door and front door? The front door could be something like sherbet or teal. Then the garage door could either be the same color if you feel bold, or darker gray if you want to be a little more muted.

Thinking of possibly converting garage to living space. Would love to have a front porch with larger windows on front.

Beautiful blank slate to start with. I would first paint the house. Paint the house a bolder gray something along the lines of Sherwin Williams Serious Gray or Summit Gray. This will define the house separate from the roof. Then change the shutters to a simple board and batten style. Then layer the landscaping adding some height closer to the house and bringing out to pops of color in flowers. Eliminate the railing and enhance the definition of the entrance.

Agree with grapefruit...no shutters...just wide trim. A bit darker siding color (gray or blue-gray) would be nice with white trim. Garage door should be the same color as siding. I wouldn't go too dark with the siding but enough to create more contrast with the roof. Adding more interest to landscaping, siding, windows will pull some focus from the roof.

Pros said it -- one said "layer the landscaping" - to me one thing that means is to bring visuals out away from the house.... extending the house, eliminated 'empty look' of grass...

Shutters off, mustard front door as above, black trim paint around the windows. Landscaping is the key.

My first thought when looking at your house is that it needs landscaping! Planting plenty of pretty flowers and other foliage will add so much curb appeal along with fresh paint. We had our house professionally painted and landscaped a couple of years ago and it makes a huge difference!
