This is a really pretty house. Before you embark into really costly ventures, perhaps there are some things you could do right away that would make your house look more welcoming.
I am not a pro, but here are my thoughts.
I think the front porch is hidden by the hedge in front of it. As an avid gardener, I am loathe to recommend removing plants that took years to get this large. But, in this case, I think it might be a good idea. (Don't remove the other shrubs. Wait and see how things look once you've removed the ones in front of the porch.)
With the porch exposed, now look at the items therein. Get a new, larger light fixture. I can't see house numbers or a mailbox in your picture, but they should probably be replaced as well. Make sure that these three items (light, numbers, mailbox) match in terms of style and finish.
I can't really see the colour of your front door, but perhaps something a bit brighter would improve the overall appearance.
Then I would get two really cool chairs for your porch. I like the Emmet chairs from Room and Board. They come in a range of colours. Something bright and fun would make your house look inviting and, with the porch more open, you can wave at your new neighbours while enjoying a cold beverage on your porch.
