It doesn't say it's an HE washer. Nothing online has this exact model....so.....?

If I was getting a top load he machine I would definitely get an LG. A friend got a new set back last spring. They like them but they also don't knit pick. Just let it do it's job. Theirs is a 7600 something model# with steam. For $90 and a short warranty might be worth trying the one you found. Some of them had trouble balancing a few years back especially after a software update so be wary of that. It's your call but my opinion as far as washing I think they agitate better than any other he top load.. but if I was buying and could I would go with a new one.

sparky....It wouldn't be for "me" exactly....for a rental I own. I want something that won't be a constant problem.

It is an HE-impeller toploader.

Then for a rental I would try to find a used direct drive Kenmore/ Whirpool or a Maytag. Less to go wrong and you know most renters don't care how others things are treated. JMO

Just saying, if Whirpool/ Kenmore still made the top load Calypso washer I would have a new one of those over a front load in a minute. To me they agitate, clean and rinse great. Too bad they didn't last. Kind of remind me of the old Frigidaire but without a tub of water. Also would buy a new Frigidaire if they were made with the overflow rinsing and up/ down agitation. Sorry I got sidetracked back to the past.

sparky....I have "nice" rentals. The architect for instance hires a gardener to take care of the yard....they treat the place well. I'm not complaining. The architect also has his own washer & dryer. :0) But I keep my eye out for deals....no front loaders I agree.

My neighbor has a frontloader set (2006 WP Duet that I refurbished) at one of his rental properties since sometime in 2013. Stacked set required there. No trouble thus far, on the 3rd occupants.

No experience with that model, but for $90 with a warranty, albeit short, I'd jump at it. (originally, $799) Here;s the model, with specs, which has been discontinued. LG Washer WT4870CW (The O you had in the model number is actually a zero. I had a hunch that's what happened, because I've done the same thing.) You can download a manual at the same site, if the seller doesn't have one. If this washer has a balance issue as noted in this thread, you should discover it in the warranty period.

I bought a brand new top loader and it’s so deep that I can even get the clothes out! I have to ask my husband to get them out for me. I’m 5’3” and I know that’s not very tall but still...I did not even think about this when I bought it. And I’m sure the sales person at sears didn’t want to say anything because I wouldn’t have purchased it if I knew I couldn’t reach the clothes. I honestly don’t think the clothes get very clean compared to a washer with a agitator. And also if you start a load of clothes you just can’t stop it and go out and when you return start it again. You can pause it but that’s it. After awhile it drains and then you have to start all over again. I was so excited to get a brand new washer with all the bells and whistles. Now I can’t wait till it breaks!!

Michelle, just a suggestion that works with most top loaders... Instead of hitting the pause button, just open the lid. You'll get an easy 8-10 hours of soaking compliance before the washer wises up and decides it knows better than you how long you'd like to soak your whites.

On this top loader you can not open the lid unless it’s paused or turned off.

How annoying. Have you tried pausing and then opening the lid? That might work. Good luck.
