Lovely stairs. I think you can do quite a bit here. Start with the nook. I think it needs a round table in there, with a tall vase on it. I assume this is in your entry way, and this table can double as a landing spot, have a tray for keys etc.

On the platform formed by the corner, you need some height there too. We don't really have a sense of the rest of your house or your decorating style otherwise, but here are a few ideas. Some tall faux plants in planters Tropical tree

Depending on where you live and what your likes are, maybe some antique sport equipment: Vintage skis and antiques

Or some antique doors. Something like this would fill that space nicely Old White Doors

Depending on what you choose, you will likely want to consider changing out the light fixture on the wall. It looks a little bit on the small size for that space, but I think you will want to choose the decor first and then find a fixture that helps pull it together with the rest of the space.

Maybe a change of paint colour as well to something more striking and dramatic to make that space really jump out and set the tone for the house.

It would look inviting and be functional to have a round, cool, neutral-colored table with a flower bouquet in the curved area near your staircase, plus some sculptural pieces of varying sizes on the platform on the other side of the stairs. Those pieces would look great in the same cool, neutral colors, too. I hope this helps! Good luck!
