One of my initial questions would be, what do you not like about your existing table, chairs, rug, and light fixture? Are you looking to update just because? Looking for something with more comfort (seating)? A little more info may help initiate some direction...Side note: The existing light fixture seems to be hung a little high for the space and could definitely be larger.

The space looks good. Is there a reason you want to change? The round table works very well as do the style of the chairs. What about finding white/cream dining chair slipcovers if you want to lighten the space? Absolutely lower the chandelier so that the bottom is about 38" from tabletop. That will give you a much more intimate feeling and show off your fixture.

Thanks for responding! Chairs are actually grey with black covers on them....Need to change chairs because they have withstood 2 toddlers and are completely destroyed by being tipped over:) they are not very high quality so they look terrible in person. The table is a “bluestone” top, has been totally destroyed by food stains and is basically irreparable. So that is why I want to just get a new dining set. The chandelier is too small and doesn’t do much for the space light wise- only 4 bulbs. I would like to go bolder and brighter. Perhaps white table with yellow chairs? Maybe black gold rug? Black lamp with gold inside... something more alive!

Here's an inspiration room for you to incorporate what you like. Thought of these drapes when I saw yours. It is a commercial studio, but the concepts may translate.

Update: new table is here! Now need new chairs and rug and light to make it pop!!! Ideas?
