Old Flowers Won't Drop

One of my Adeniums is reluctant to shed a few of its old brown wilted flowers. Gentle tugging on my part is met with resistance. All the old flowers on my other plants drop with enthusiastic abandon in comparison. This plant produced a seed pod early last year when I wasn't paying attention to it. Is it possible that more pods are on the way or could there be another explanation?

I have also had this happen on occasion w a plant and I snip off the bloom just at the base of flower stem, where it is green. A seed pod would not be forming from the dead blossom. I have found if I leave the dead blossom on and that possible rot can take place. If you are met w resistance when trying to remove, is when I snip.

My experiences w this to date.

Yes best to snip, if you tug too hard sometimes the whole inflo can snap right off in one little stubby bit! I have done this before and it’s taken with it a cluster of emerging buds which is very annoying! It could also snap off seed pods, or flowers at the same time. Nice to be houseproud, but don’t try to be too tidy!
