Something wrong here....

In case you were wondering, this post is about Lithops. Here's the scoop:

This goes back to mid November, when I realized that one of my Lithops was going to bloom! How exciting! All was well until this morning. I was doing the regular checkup, and saw something strange....

Exhibit A:

In case you can't tell, that's a flower bud. ANOTHER flower bud. I am interested to see how this will unfold. My one guess is that perhaps the new plant forming inside this one decided to bloom. Technically, I think that would be possible.

Anyhow, if you have any ideas or thoughts, I would love to hear them. I would also be interested to know if this has happened to anyone else.

Interesting to see how it goes. This is one of the fascinating aspects of growing C&S - they never fail to surprise, delight and amaze.

I have something similar looking happening with one of mine, too small yet to see and photo isn't clear enough. Pls. post follow up - I'll post photo as it grows and if it is the same situation.

Yes! Please post some pictures!

On the note of an update, It looks like the bud is getting ready to open. it will probably open Saturday-Sunday. It looks pretty normal so far... Besides the fact that it is markedly smaller than the last bud (which makes sense). It has grown a lot during the past 24 hours. Maybe I can get update pictures tomorrow.
