What is the radius of the area you are trying to cover? I think your best bet would to contact a sales specialist affiliated with door/door knobs such as schlage. You can also reach out to your local vendor with whom you order your framing material, trim, and doors from. For us we use John H Myer or 84 Lumber. Also, is this for an interior passage door (Ie to a bathroom/bedroom) or a front entry? If it's a front entry is there a deadbolt as well? If it's a front entry you can get a dead bolt/passage handle combo which should cover a decent amount.

ive looked at every brand under the sun!!! 3 1/4" diameter passage sets for tall interior french doors. one with matching dead bolt

thanks the issue would be the width as well. i have to see if that contoured top would show the raw wood from the hole. i was looking for levers with an oversized rosette. or back plate. either square or round, but the baldwin for eg are like 2 1/4"

Hmm...my best suggestion beyond fixing the wood is to contact a manufacturer directly or one of the regional distributors such as 84 Lumber, Allied Window, John H. Myer, etc. I'll check around to see if I can locate anything, sorry I can't be of more help!
