Our master bedroom and bath are small. I am remodeling my master bathroom and need to move the pocket door for functional issues in the bathroom and in our master bedroom and need to choose its placement very carefully so that it functions correctly. The door sits on the west wall of the bedroom and a dresser sits in the corner on the south wall abutting the west wall. I need to move the door as close as possible to the dresser without impeding ingress/egress lane to and from the bathroom in front of the . The dresser is about 20 inches deep and with the drawers fully extended approximately 34 inches from the south wall. How many inches off the south wall should I have the pocket door begin so that ingess/egress works well. The door opening needs to be as close to the dresser as possible because our bed is on the north wall and brackets the walking lane to the bathroom. Any professional advice is much appreciated!
