I get some people won't like this look but I love it but after one year, the backsplash is finally done. I was tired of staring at sheetrock but I could not pick out what I wanted. My first love was MOP. However, I read some horror stories about it but in the end, I went with it. I love shiny and I love bling. The top pic doesn't show the wall color or the entire kitchen/dining room but neither does the bottom. I also purchase some LED puck lights (Lowe's) that I put up underneath the cabinets (battery operated so no wiring) which really brings out the shine and shimmer. I still need to add MOP to the area above the window, repaint the trim, and finish the cabinet door on the lower right, possibly change out the hardware and repaint the dining room walls (for the third time-ugh). I applied dark cherrywood to the back of the cupboards as it had been just painted and I thought it needed something. The counter tops have every color under the sun...white, beige, brown, black, pearlescent, metallic looking pieces and even spots of red here and there! And the shade above the sink looks pretty sweet. The look doesn't show up in pics and I can't even describe it-just found that yesterday!
