Is an all white bathroom too white?

We are in the process of redoing our master bathroom. We are doing all white tile everywhere including the floor, shower and behind the tub (all different tile). I have always loved the all white bathrooms and I know they are popular but I am scared that it will be too white. My husband thinks we should at least do a different color vanities (such a gray) so there is some color. I thougth about doing navy blue vanities but haven’t been able to find ones that I absolutely love that won’t break the budget. So now I am back to my original idea of doing white vanities again but scared that it will look all wrong in the end. Has anyone done an all white bathroom? I would love some feedback and pictures. THANK YOU!

The only danger of doing monochromatic is if tones clash. For ex. if cabinet paint oxidizes and yellows over time, it may clash with white floor tile or countertop. Hence a good idea to have 1-2 colors to mask time variances. BTW, art and linens count as color, so all white never needs to be boring. A creamy white might be more forgiving if your heart is set on all white.

All white is nice, but I agree with your husband that a different colored vanity would look nice. A natural wood vanity could provide the necessary warmth. But decor like towels, rugs, plants, art, etc will add a lot of color so I wouldn't worry about too much white.

For heaven sake. All white baths abound!! You don't mention which tile where or have pictures posted. Baths get hardware, they get lighting. There are many aspects of "white" baths, down to paint and art on the walls.....and the color of the towels you select, and those can be white as well. It depends your style...... your fixtures, finishes etc. None below look boring or "too white" to me : )

    Hi Jenny !!

A total white bathroom is not a bad Idea, however, you can get bored of getting into a whole white pattern everyday, so here goes my suggestions :

1- Choose a grayish vanity top.

    OR

2- You can go beyond the usual and keep your white bath idea, adding accessories that will give the bathroom a unique and fresh look (notice how gracious is the look that the flowers and the chair gives to this bathroom) :

and my third idea, is work with the navy blue on the accessories. Navy Blue is the color that you mentioned, and is a great choice to put on the bathroom, you could have a nice navy blue vessel sink , and accessories matching .. For me, this would be the perfect choice.

I hope this comment helps you

One of our bathrooms is all white, and we have never gotten tired of it. The vanity was brown wood, but we painted it WHITE. Being able to change towels, accent rugs, artwork, etc. is a blessing! I'd refrain from a sink in a color - unless you plan to stay in the home forever.

There are always places to add color in a bathroom when the background is all white. You can add colored towels and accessories, and you can always paint the walls...

It could look lovely if that's really your preference! If you'd like to add some contrasting details, I would maybe have the hardware/cabinet door handles be a nice brass/gold and possibly have a different coloured vanity as well. Perhaps even add an accent wall.

All white is alright! Just put the lights on dimmers for those mornings you are not feeling particularly 'bright'. ;)

I like at least one element to bedazzle a bath...my floor might be a bit much but I still smile every time I see it :)

We just bought a vacation place and the bathroom is all white. Hexagon tiles on the floor and in the shower, with white grout, and subway tiles on the shower wall, white painted wood walls, white curtains at the window. It does make a rather small room feel bigger, but I am here to say that keeping that floor clean is going to be a chore! And it all looks a bit ... white! I'll be experimenting with colored towels and bath rugs, for sure, till we can do a floor replacement.

We are trying to decide between white subway tile in the bathtub area only, which will go to the ceiling, vs the tender gray tile.
I plan on a white vanity not sure about the vanity top yet. Also plan on vinyl bead board and a wood look tile floor .
Any advice would be appreciated . Don't want it to be to stark, but at the same time want it to be timeless and bright . I thought I could bring in a wood mirror too if we go with all white and a light grey maybe for the walls instead of in the tile
    Any advice would be appreciated
