What is your style? What does the rest of the room look like?

Hi, i am not able to get a photo at the moment but the kitchen is country-traditional with off-white cabinetry. I think we want to just bring some character to the window, lots of white in the kitchen... so what did I do? I selected more white!

If you sew consider making a faux roman shade. I am not sure there is enough fabric there to use what you have - and it might be best to line a faux roman shade. Another idea is a tie up if you want something a little soft and feminine. I just did a faux roman shade in my kitchen. In earlier pictures I have a more gathered valance and I wanted something a little less gathered:

I think the proportions are a little off. It would look fine a little shorter allowing the window to be fully visible. The rod pocket is distracting. If you shorten it, add some ribbon to echo the bottom trim and make the pocket smaller.
